My name is Stephen Brennan. I’m a fly tyer and salmon fishing addict from Belfast in Northern Ireland.
I have been fishing for as long as I can remember in the rivers and loughs of Donegal that surrounded the town of Glenties where I was extremely lucky to have a small family holiday home growing up.
Today, I do the majority of my salmon fishing on the River Finn just outside Ballybofey, as well as the River Mourne and its tributaries later in the season.
I have been tying salmon flies for several years now with a particular interest in Irish shrimp flies and long tail shrimp patterns tied for the Foyle system.
I will be tying at the GAIA (Game Angling Instructors Association) stand where I’ll be demonstrating tying salmon flies on bead head singles which are predominantly used on the River Finn.
