Pike fishing in the English Lake District was and still is a great passion I have. Fly dressing began in those early years with the necessity to dress small Stoat’s tail tube flies fished in conjunction with an artificial lure to catch pike. Natural progressions followed into fly fishing and hence fly dressing for both trout and salmon. I have have recently enjoyed dressing a number small strip wing flies which were demonstrated at the Scone Palace Game Fair this year. It was well received by the attendees at the Fair. I have just completed a project dressing versions of the famous Dee Fly called the “ Balmoral” from various sources as my dedication to Queen who recently passed away. It was an enjoyable and very interesting project.
