My name is Dean Armstrong from Omagh in Co Tyrone. I am a Salmon angler and fly dresser. I have been fishing since I was a small boy and tying flies for over 20 years.
I tie almost entirely large Scandinavian patterns for anglers travelling to Norway, Canada and Russia.
My flies travel further and wider than I ever will. I am very proud in the knowledge that my flies have accounted for several fish over the magical 50lb mark on the world famous Alta River in Finnmark.
In 2013 an Angler landed the largest Fly caught Norweigan fish (58lb) on a Green Highlander tied in Ireland.
I am delighted to be attending my 8th Irish Fly Fair and will be happy to share the techniques I use for tubes more suited to our Irish spate rivers
