Tanja Drofelnik is a passionate angler from Slovenia and a dedicated member of the Semperfli Pro Team. Her fly fishing journey began in childhood on the crystal-clear Savinja River, where she learned alongside her father. The Savinja, home to the mighty hucho – the king of freshwater rivers – has shaped her fishing style and her deep respect for nature.

Specializing in tying streamers for hucho, Tanja embraces the challenge of this highly selective predator. Her fly-tying philosophy focuses on simplicity, natural appearance, and subtle details, resulting in patterns that combine premium materials, convincing silhouettes, and lifelike movement in the water.

Blending technical precision with years of experience on Slovenia’s waters, her streamers represent not just lures, but an expression of sustainability, creativity, and dedication to the art of fly tying.

This year marks Tanja’s first Irish Fly Fair, and she is excited to share her work at such a prestigious event — hoping a touch of Irish luck will be with her along the way.
