Nejc Travner comes from Slovenia and is proud to be part of Semperfli’s Pro Team. His passion for fishing began in childhood, but it truly ignited when he discovered fly fishing and the art of tying artificial flies – two passions that continue to shape his journey today.
A creative and dedicated tier, Nejc welcomes every challenge at the vise. For him, tying flies is not just a craft but a form of relaxation – a way to step into a world where imagination sets the only limits.
Sharing knowledge is one of Nejc’s greatest joys. Whether it’s introducing clever techniques, showcasing innovative materials, or teaching the fundamentals, he thrives on inspiring others – beginners and experienced tiers alike. Each year, he serves as a mentor at Slovenia’s national children’s fly fishing camp, guiding and encouraging the next generation of anglers and tiers.
The year 2025 is a special one for Nejc. He launched his ambitious project Tie Hard, where he ties and shares a brand-new fly every single day – 365 flies in 365 days, with no patterns repeated. The project can be followed on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
This year also marks Nejc’s first Irish Fly Fair, and he is truly excited to be part of this renowned event. He looks forward to meeting old friends, making many new connections, and sharing his passion with everyone at such a big and vibrant venue.
