Mike is one of the best-known Lough Anglers in the Country, he has represented Ireland on 12 occasions, 10 of these in the 4 Nations Lough Style Internationals. He was captain of the Gold Medal winning Irish Team on Lough Mask in 2018 and has also been top Irish rod on two occasions at these internationals. Mike is a highly successful competition angler, so it goes without saying has won numerous competitions on Loughs Corrib and Mask including the prestigious World Cup in 2010. Together with Tom Doc they have been very successful in pairs competitions, winning the Oughterard 50 on two occasions.

Mike has an intimate knowledge of the big western Loughs and Brown Trout habits with over 30 years’ experience. He loves fishing all the hatches especially with nymph and Buzzer techniques. Mike is a very experienced fly dresser who has perfected many of his own patterns over the years. Living in Moycullen Co Galway he also spends a lot of the Summer on the Connemara lakes chasing Sea Trout and Salmon. He is also very experienced in fishing techniques for Rainbows having competed on Rutland, Lake of Menteith, Grafham, Brenig etc. He is a qualified instructor in trout casting and fly-tying and is looking forward to participating as part of the Fulling Mill Team.
