A Belgian fly fisherman and fly tying specialist, former secretary of the FVV, has nearly fifty years of experience in this unique angling discipline. His passion began at the age of 8 in the local waters with coarse fishing. Later on he discovered fly fishing in the early seventies, the start of everything. Jef started out searching for trout or grayling in European rivers and tying specific flies for it. In the cold saasons he hunted for pike in the Netherlands. But over the years, he transitioned to fishing in reservoirs and lakes. What makes this hobby so special to him is the constant experimentation with new techniques and the discovery of innovations in the craft. For him, fly fishing is not just a sport but an art form – one of the most beautiful ways to bring nature and technique together.
