JOIN GEORGE BURDESS AT THE IRISH FLY FAIR
I’m George Burdess from County Galway but living in the South Tipperary. I’ve been fly tying and fishing for over 19 years when my uncle introduced me into fly tying. Since then, I have learned a lot and have even attended many shows around Ireland as well as the BFFI on the tyers row and the Deer Creek stand.
I fish many styles and for various species, from wild loughs in the West for brownies, to the tricky trout on the river Nore & Suir, to Pike in the midlands, largemouth bass in Massachusetts, if it’s got a fin I’ll catch it on a fly rod.
I specialise in deer hair lough style patterns as I love blending and experimenting with shades, shapes and colours but can tye river patterns from size 14 up to 24. I’ve been lucky to fish all over Ireland as well as a trip to Scotland, lough hopping on float tubes.
I am Pro-Staff with Deer Creek resins and a Pro-Tyer and endorsed Guide with FullingMill. I ghillie on the River Nore at Mount Juliet Estate as well as for Trout Fishing Ireland.ie. I look forward to speaking with you all at the show!
