I have many childhood memories of fishing with friends and family and in 2006 my older brother introduced me to the world of fly fishing. My passion for tying flies started soon after and being a self-taught tyer, I still continue to learn the art of wrapping fur and feathers onto a hook to tempt the fish of our piscatorial dreams.

I love to wrap traditional Scottish wet patterns putting my twist onto them by using more modern materials. I have been previously asked to tie at Fly Fest at Penrith, The Scottish Fly Fair, The Scottish Game Fair, The British Fly Fair International, last year The Irish Fly Fair and most recently I was invited to sit on tyers row at Glasgow Angling Centre’s spring open weekend where shortly after I was appointed as an Ambassador for the world famous fly tying brand Veniard.

It all started with my brother, flyfishing for wild brown trout in my local river, The River Cart and then moving onto still waters for stocked rainbow trout in the central belt of Scotland.

Now I mainly fish my club river which over the recent years has been far less than I would have liked to due to ongoing health issues. Most of my enjoyment now comes from hearing the stories from friends that have caught their personal bests or had red letter days fishing with flies that I have tied for them.
