Irish Fly Fair

My name is Dean Armstrong from Omagh in Co Tyrone. I am a Salmon angler and fly dresser. I have been fishing since I was a small boy and tying flies for over 20 years.

I tie almost entirely large Scandinavian patterns for anglers travelling to Norway, Canada and Russia.

My flies travel further and wider than I ever will. I am very proud in the knowledge that my flies have accounted for several fish over the magical 50lb mark on the world famous Alta River in Finnmark, Norway.

In 2013 an Angler landed the largest Fly caught Norweigan fish (58lb) on a Green Highlander tied in Ireland.

I am delighted to be attending The Irish Fly Fair in The Killyhelvin Hotel Enniskillen where I will be demonstrating tube fly techniques.
