Born in Belfast, current location Ballyclare in the Six Mile valley. My fishing journey started at age 6 when my Grandfather introduced me to collecting caddis grubs under rocks in the upper reaches of the Six Mile. In my teens, I developed a love for fly fishing for rainbow and brown trout on local still waters before eventually falling for larger wild loughs. I enjoy targeting trout with dry fly, wets, nymphs or lures and my choice of set up will be dependant on venue and conditions to suit. I'm a passionate advocate for youth fishing as that is the future of all angling. I practice full catch and release of all wild fish caught. For Salmon, Pike, Dollaghan or Sea Trout I aim to use my own variants of dressings as I believe it is more rewarding. Within the last couple of years I have taken up dying materials, no pro but it certainly adds to the amateur fly tying experience. It is a great honour to be invited to participate in the Virtual Irish Fly Fair.
